This review takes us away from the bleak desolate landscapes of post-apocalyptic wastelands and whisks us away into the dark fantasy realm of sinister nunsploitation! Nunsploitation, that strange sub-genre of exploitation sinima involving nuns and their notorious habits.
The Sinful Nuns of Saint Valentine is a strange amalgam of the story of star-crossed lovers from feuding families ala "Romeo and Juliet" grafted onto the time period of the Inquisition ala "Mark of the Devil" but set in a convent full of. .
Sinful nuns. .
We're talking bring out the whip bad. .
Because these cloistered women are very, very, very naughty! How bad? Well. .
Bad enough that the Inquisition comes calling. .
I'm afraid so. The ending is straight out of the legend of Countess Bathory but to get there you must first trudge through the muck and misery of Dante's Inferno. Dare you watch? How can you not! There's swashbuckling swordplay. .
Candlelight vigils. .
And it's the only way to find out what's going on here. .
Or what this crazy looking scene is all about. .
