Do you ever think about that? I do, from time to time. I also know there's hundreds of movies out there I've never heard of, much less seen. I know the sword-and-sandal/sorcery genre has been all but ignored by legit R1 DVD labels. I also know that certain horror movies seem to get multipled releases over and over again, but what about the movies that we never see here in R1?

Partly inspired by this thread at the Badmovies dot org forums I've revisted an old blog entry 101+ Movies Without Proper R1 DVD Releases and decided to update the list, a bit. So, without further adieu, here's a short list of genre movies that have not yet recieved 'legit' R1 DVD releases that probably should have long ago. Alas companies keep re-re-re-re-releasing the same tired old movies like EVIL DEAD and ALIEN and SPIDERMAN but never...

The following Post-Apocalypse movies are AWOL on R1 DVD:

Genesis II

Planet Earth

Strange New World

Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn

Wheels of Fire

Raiders of the Sun

2020: Texas Gladiators

She (1982)

The Sisterhood (1988)

Knights (1993)

Empire of Ash

America 3000

Roller Blade

Damnation Alley

Warlords

Neon City

Nor are the following sword-and-sorcery/sandal movies available on R1 DVD:

Deathstalker III: The Warriors From Hell

Sorceress (1982)

BeastMaster 2 - Through The Portal Of Time

Beastmaster: The Eye of Braxus

Romulus and the Sabines

Thor the Conqueror

Iron Warrior

And the following sci-fi movies are also AWOL on R1 DVD:

Galaxy Of Terror

Forbidden World (AKA: Mutant)

Arena (?)

The Humanoid

Starcrash

Starcrash II

That's just some of the more interesting titles totally overlooked by legit R1 labels. What else is out there?
